The tallest Lego sets of all time

by Nikita P.

Have you ever wondered about the possibility of having a really large Lego creature? One that isn't only taller than the other previous Legos but is also possibly taller than the builder? Do you wonder why anybody would even consider building anything so large that they can't move it around? Or why the Lego company made such a magnificent set? Well, you'll see for yourself soon.

Lego has proven to be man's next best friend after dogs obviously, and the craft is more satisfying than gulping a chilled bottle of champagne. It is really marvelous to think that there are actually Lego sets that can take you up to 3 or more days of a constant building to actually complete. We're not talking about the record-breaking Lego crafts that you may have seen. We're talking about actual Lego sets that were produced by the Lego company.

The tallest Lego sets

In this article, we're going to be looking at some of the tallest Lego sets, how big they are, how many bricks they would take. Before we get to the end of this article, we'll also take a look at some of the largest and record-breaking Lego crafts, just so that you know there's no limit to what you can do with your Lego bricks. This list isn't going to follow any particular order.

It is almost impossible to look up the most magnificent Lego sets on the internet and not find this one on top of the list. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure if you ask your friend who's really into Lego crafts, they'd mention the Lego Star Wars UCS millennium falcon first. I know I said that the list wouldn't follow any order but it only feels right to place the tallest first. This set is the biggest set ever created, both in the Star Wars line and in every other Lego line available.

The set was released in October 2017 and since then, there hasn't been one taller. It consumes a total of 7541 bricks and you can imagine how many Lego cars you'd make with that. I'll leave you to figure that out. Lego really went sky high with this one and to see another set taller than this one would be asking for a Guinness world record.

The set is, in fact, the most externally detailed when it comes to Star Wars sets. It also gives the builder the chance to configure it to both old or new Star Wars spaceships. It comes with 10 mini-figures and you know that means more fun. The set is obviously filled with all-round goodness.

One of the tallest Lego sets. The Taj Mahal is really gigantic and impressive. From the mere look of it from the pictures you'll find on the internet, you already know that it is definitely going to consume as many Lego bricks as possible.

Although it doesn't come with any minifigure, it actually does pretty well all by itself. You can use some of the Lego minifigures from the other sets like the UCS millennium falcon or any other one to create just about any scene that you want. The set really does take away your room space to give you some more Lego fun space.

The Taj Mahal box contains a total of 5922 pieces. In some boxes, you would find one extra piece, but don't worry, you'd still have a complete looking Taj Mahal without it. This set would take you at least one full day to build. That is if you're not doing any other thing like eating, having your bath, and all of that. If, however, you're going to be going at it gradually, then you must plan3 days for it.

The set is 16 inches tall and 20 inches wide. You know what that means when you place it sideways. This isn't the kind of set you want to build and keep in a compact room. It would eat up good space and you have to feed it just that.

This set really helps you to relive the Harry Potter experience. It is really an unforgettable one so why not just have it with you forever? Ask about the biggest ever Lego set that doesn't come from the Star Wars line and you're certainly going to have this one always mentioned. This set is really impressive from the design to the size, to the versatility, it offers when you try to have fun with it.

The set was released in September 2018 and has since then remained the second-largest Lego set to be released. In the castle, you'll find moving staircases, the great hall, defenseagainst the dark art, classrooms, and some other interesting features that will help you relive the Harry Potter movie.

The Hogwarts castle Lego set is around 22 inches tall, 27 inches high, and 16 inches deep. From these, you should already know you shouldn't be having this set in a small room unlessyou don't really like space that much. The set also comes with a total of 6020 Lego pieces and 4 minifigures for you to create awesome scenes with.

This set couldn't have gotten any taller. If the Lego company had made this one taller than what we see right now, we'd probably have changed their name to "Captain obvious". Remember the idiom about the goldfish that can't stay hidden? Yes, this is just like that scenario. The Lego Ninjago is bursting with all-round goodness. You don't see height with such beauty every day.

The set was released in September 2017 just one month before the largest set was released, talking about the UCS millennium falcon. The set has 3 levels, the first one which is the one on the ground is a big fish market and a house which also has a fishing boat and a calming bridge. The second one is a seafood store, fashion store, and a comic book store. The third one is Lloyd and Misako's apartment and that's definitely the one that gives this set the height that it has because it contains a radio tower and a rooftop sushi bar.

If you're a fan of the Lego Ninjago movie, you'd definitely connect with this set because it is not just big, it is actually very detailed and the sweetest part is that you get to create every bit of it. Don't worry, it comes with a guide that helps builders along the building process. It contains 4867 Lego pieces and comes with 16 minifigures to have extreme fun with. This is the biggest Lego Ninjago set you'll find out there.

This one's another really large Lego Star Wars set that I personally love. The creativity in the set is just completely inexplicable. I mean, how do you explain that Lego actuallymade this set to feature guns, big engine exhausts, and a tilting rader dish. Tell me that doesn't take you back to the Star Wars movie. It does, doesn't it? I'm pretty sure that was the plan.

This set was released in September 2019 and contains a total of 4784 Lego pieces and to special minifigures to fly this magnificent ship. This is definitely Lego's biggest attemptat giving us a Star Destroyer and I must confess that this really does it. However, a bigger one wouldn't be a bad idea.

This set is going to take up your space no doubts. You would need a really large room if you want to display this one to your friends. As a matter of fact, just to show you how big thisset is, it's actually going to take you up to 23 hours to fit every single piece in place. Yes, you heard that right. So if you're going to be going about your normal daily business while you build, then you mightwant to take at least 2 to three days.

The set measures 17 inches in height, 26 inches in width, and a whopping 43 inches in length. Place it sideways and you wouldn't need me to tell you that it's going to be tallerthan most builders. The imperial destroyer really destroys your space, doesn't it? Well, it pretty much doesn't do it as much as the next set on the list.

This set is simple and plain. Yes, that's because it's pretty straightforward and comes with just two colors. You wouldn't have any problem building this one since the structure is made with mainly flat Lego bricks but it doesn't reduce its awesomeness. This set is another really tall Lego set as it prides mainly on its height.

The set comes with a total of 4634 Lego pieces and 9 minifigures, some of which include 4 ghostbusters (Peter Venkman, Winston Zeddemore, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler; the receptionist,Janine Melnitz; Dana Barrett and Louis Tully. The set also includes some ghosts and a zombie driver. It's a really great way to relive the Ghostbusters story.

This set was released in January 2016 and has been the favorite of so many Ghostbusters fans. It is really creative and unique. Everything that it should have had had in width and depth, the Ghostbusters firehouse headquarters substituted for height and that explains why it's on this list.

The Lego tower bridge is one of the really awesome Lego replicas ever made. It replicates the awesomeness of the iconic London Bridge, the details are magnificent. If you hire a goodphotographer and install some really good mini street lights, it could easily pass for the actual tower bridge.

When it comes to height, as you'd expect, this set has it. If you also talk about length, it has it just as well. It is awesome in all ramification. Although it doesn't comewith any minifigure, it has just enough space for you to have other small Lego vehicles on it. Isn't that just awesome? The pictures are going to be amazing.

The set was released in 2010 and contains a total of 4287 Lego pieces. It is 17 inches high and 40 inches long. To be honest with you, this set isn't going to be easily seen in justabout every Lego store that you visit, you'd need to dig deep and when you do find it, ensure that you take it off the market because it's going to be out in no time, and when that happens, you can bet it's goingto sell for twice the price on eBay.

This isn't your usual flat-brick Lego set, it definitely also isn't straightforward to build either. It may be easy for you if you've been building lots and lots of Lego crafts but if you're only just starting out, you might have to consider inviting some Lego loving friends over. The set is totally beautiful and sends you to the sweet land of imagination. You'll see yourself riding in the rollercoaster with your friends and mates. It is really gigantic and fun to play with.

It comes with 11 minifigures and 4123 Lego pieces, which means you'll need to dedicate some days into building it. You don't want to rush and mess it all up. The set was released in June 2018 and is still the largest Lego rollercoaster ever made.

It is around 20 inches tall, 34 inches wide, and around 16 inches in depth. The rollercoaster set includes a train with three train cars in a chain-lift that actually functions. This means that you can move all the minifigures around on the rollercoaster and even create a cool scene with some others on the rollercoaster ground.

This set was released in October 2019, just a year ago and it looks like it's the largest and tallest non-Star-Wars Lego vehicle ever made. It measures around 16 inches in height,25 inches in length, and 10 inches in width. If you want to get into a cool digging adventure, you surely wouldn't want to leave this pack of awesomeness behind.

The set is magnificent and actually gives you the feeling that you're really driving a real excavator, the movable motor wheels at the bottom and the pretty long digger in frontof it offer you that burst of goodness and reality. The sweetest part is that you can actually make it move in almost every direction that you want by simply controlling it with the app which can be downloaded into your smartphone. How cool is that?

10. BIG BEN

No, it's not a huge human figure, it's actually another awesomely gigantic Lego building. The set is up to 23 inches tall and comes with 4163 Lego pieces. Although it doesn't come with any minifigure, it doesn't stop a real Lego lover from experimenting with minifigures from other Lego sets.

This Elizabeth tower is everything that it really stands for. The beauty is all the same, the color, the design, and even the details. The only thing that differentiates this Lego set from the real one is the actual size. That doesn't stop it from being too large for a compact room anyway. You'll need a really good room space if you want to keep this one in your room. It is tall, yes it is. As a little advice, you should probably have it standing tall and beautiful beside your television set if you're considering buying it.

It should cost around $200 dollars now if you want to purchase it. And also remember that big structures like this don't last in the market so you might want to get yours early enough before you see a hike in its price on eBay.

This is the first Disney-themed Lego set that's coming up on our list and I must confess, it's actually one of the most beautiful Lego sets available out there. If you're a real Disney fan, you'd know how magnificent the Disney castle is. It reminds you of watching a Disney movie with the castle coming up first on your screen. This set is extremely gorgeous. All the colors will definitely speak in favor of its beauty.

It comes with 4043 sets and 5 of some of your favorite Disney characters as minifigures including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy, Minnie mouse, and Tinkerbell for an added pixie dust. The fun just never stops with Disney, whether you're watching a movie, show, or even building the Lego Disney castle, you'll always feel the excitement. The set was released in September 2016 and still holds the recordfor being the largest Disney-themed Lego set ever released.

This set will consume space just as much as it contains space. This is the second Lego set on our list that actually has some inner space. It comes with 4016 Lego pieces and a whopping total of 27 minifigures for you to have all the fun with. It's mostly grey but inside the craft, you'll find a few red bricks and on it, there's a green satellite dish. This completely replicates the Death starfrom the Star Wars movie.

Conclusion

This list is for the tallest Lego sets of all time but have it in mind that every single set listed here could be out of the list if the Lego company decides to surprise us as usual with much bigger sets. For now, these are the biggest.

There are other really large sets like the Lego Old Trafford: Manchester United, Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron, Lego Ninjago city docks, Lego Technic bucket wheel excavator and some others. However, these ones on our list are actually much taller and even fancier than the others.
