Lights bring BD to life

This is my first Game of Bricks Light kit and overall, I am very pleased with the quality and appearance of the product. The card in the box has a QR code that when scanned, leads you to real photo installation instructions. The instructions aren't terribly detailed but clearly show where the wires and components go, as well as showing you which LEGO pieces need to be removed to install the wires. Overall, the instructions are well laid out and help with the intricate installation. I would recommend you take your time installing the wires as not to accidentally damage the TINY components.

Installation was slow and steady, up to the part where an LED light strip is installed on the back panel of BD's 'head', the area with all the little blue and green LEGO dots. The instructions show a clean, flat solder point that can be sandwiched between two LEGO pieces. In reality, the solder joint has a clear protective bump that made it nearly impossible to replace the LEGO plates for a clean fit. I had to play around with placement of the strip to get it to fit. Even then, the plate over the strip is just about ready to pop and I may need to secure it later with a couple drops of Kragl. But, as of now it is holding in place.

The above was the only real issue. I used a set of craft magnifying glasses that helped immensely with installing the LED and sound kit. Game of Bricks obviously takes pride in their products and this kit takes the already excellent BD-1 kit to…

Looks really nice

Quality is great and the lights look fantastic. The installation is a bit difficult and on one part it doesn't fit perfectly, but that's ok for me. I would buy it again.
