Light Kit for LEGO® Central Perk 21319

Have you watched the NBC sitcom Friends? If you haven’t, you should. More than 25 years after it first aired, it is still hilarious. Central Perk is the coffeehouse in the show – the six main characters frequently visited it, situated in New York City's Greenwich Village.

The coffee shop features small tables with chairs that extras often occupy. From the main camera’s angle, these sit behind the large orange sofa in the middle of the room. There is the green chair on the right, the coffee table, and the table and chair on the left, which are nearly always the main setting for any scene in the coffeehouse.

In the earlier episodes, no matter how busy the coffee shop became, those seats were somehow always available for the main characters. The artwork at the back of Central Perk changed every few episodes, but the furniture layout remained largely unchanged for the entire series.

The most prominent feature is the large orange couch the characters usually sit on. It seats four of the friends at a time; one of the others takes the green chair on the right, and if all six are present, a table with a single chair on the left seats the last person.

The couch also appears in the opening credits, in front of the large fountain the cast dance in. At the end of the credits, all six sit on the couch at once as Monica turns off the lamp to the right.

Central Perk has inspired imitations around the world, with replica couches, counters, neon signage, and brickwork.
